It's possible to lighten a wood flood which has dulled or turned orange over time. Discover two key ways to lighten a floor.
Option 1 – Add a primer
A simple and understated option is to add a primer (first coat) with a subtle white pigment. This helps to neutralises any warmer tones naturally present in the wood.

Option 2 – Go for a Scandinavian finish
A Scandinavian look takes the subtle effect of a single-coat prime a step further. Using two coats of white pigment primer with two coats of a white pigment lacquer produces a considerably paler effect. This is a stunning look which complements a range of decorative styles and is a truly impressive feature in a home.
